What's Going On

After I finished the Old Red Barn quilt I realized I had enough scraps left over to make a baby quilt. (I have no idea why blogger is underlining everything). At about the same time I got a bench to go in the entryway. So I made a coin quilt to go on the bench. I need more decorating ideas for it though. Like maybe a mirror above it or some kind of vinyl sign. Decorating is not my forte. I still haven't decided what kind of curtains I like, therefore we have no curtains and we've lived here for years. So I'm happy my new quilts take the blahness out of the room and give it a little color.
Here it is full size. After getting everything quilted together I realized all I had left was one 2.5 inch strip. I was cutting it close! The backside is selveges of the other quilt. Good thing it's all polka dot so it's not super obvious that it's actually 16 pieces of fabric sewn together. Usually a backing is has 1 seam down the back and that's it. But who cares? It's expensive fabric and I wasn't going to let it sit in my material box. I quilted it myself with my mom's sewing machine. It has a handy dandy walking foot attachment (she acutally bought the attachment for me so I could quilt with it, she's soo nice :-). But the thing that made it quilt so nice was the fabric adhesive I sprayed inbetween the layers. Macey wanted to "help" me of course and got covered in a mist of the adhesive and then played with the scraps of batting. I wish I would've got a picture of her, it was soo dang funny. She looked like a little dog with fur.
For Pioneer Day my parents invited us to go 4-wheeling with them up Beaver mountain. The weather was soo nice and once we got up really high it even got a little chilly. Macey loved riding the 4-wheelers.

So much so that she fell asleep! Good thing Grandma was there to hold her head.

Here's Kirby and Josh at the top of one of the trails. I just realized I don't have a picture of Dad and Taylor on the other 4-wheeler. Whups!

Here's Justin on his motorcycle.

These mountain biking pictures are from June when Justin went biking at the Grand Canyon with a group of his friends.
And here's a picture of the group that he went with.
And this is from the fourth of July. We hiked up Angels Landing in the morning. We always stop at Scout Outlook. I don't dare go any farther than that or my knees starting shaking and I get really nauseaus. One day I'll conquer my fear of heights. But not today. After that we hiked down to the trooper and had lunch, went home, took a nap and then went swimming and watched fireworks. I'd say it was one of our best fourth of July's yet.
